OPTHE OPERATOR

LEGAL & PRIVACY

Privacy Policy

Effective August 16, 2026

Overview

The Operator provides restaurant owners with operating intelligence from services they choose to connect, including Clover, DoorDash, and Uber Eats. This policy explains what information we process and how we protect it.

Information we process

We process account identifiers supplied by our authentication provider, restaurant and location identifiers, authorization credentials issued by connected platforms, and sales information such as orders, totals, refunds, timestamps, and sales-channel summaries. We do not request or store full payment-card numbers or Clover account passwords.

Photo reading

The photo reader processes printed text on your device. The service receives a resized image, detected text and the fields you confirm when you choose to save. Saved photos and records are associated with your signed-in account. This photo-reading flow does not send images to an external AI provider. Avoid including payment-card details or unrelated personal information in uploaded documents.

Operator AI

When conversational AI is enabled, your question, recent questions in the same permission scope, and selected authorized business summaries and notes are sent to OpenAI to prepare an answer. This does not grant access to other businesses or private archives. Responses are saved in your private answer history. The current photo-reading process remains on your device; this conversational flow does not upload source images.

How information is used

Information is used only to authenticate users, connect authorized restaurant locations, retrieve and combine business data, display analytics, maintain the service, prevent misuse, and comply with applicable law. We do not sell personal information or restaurant sales data.

Connected services

Data is retrieved only after an authorized user approves access through the connected service. Access credentials are encrypted at rest. You may revoke a connection through the applicable platform or request disconnection from The Operator.

Sharing and retention

We disclose information only to infrastructure and service providers needed to operate The Operator, when directed by an authorized user, or when legally required. We retain information only while needed to provide the service, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, and protect the service.

Security

We use access controls, encryption, and separation of merchant connections to protect stored information. No electronic system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your choices

You may revoke connected-platform access, request deletion of stored connection data, or ask questions about this policy using the support contact provided with The Operator Clover application.

Changes

We may update this policy as the service changes. The effective date above identifies the latest revision.
